Senior Software Developer: Dynamics 365 F&O

Job Advert Summary Purpose of the Role: The Senior Software Developer is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining and supporting Eduvos' enterprise applications, with a focus on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O). This role requires strong expertise in AGILE and DevOps practices to ensure efficient, high-quality software delivery, and works closely with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that meet business needs and drive innovation. Minimum Requirements Minimum Requirements for the job: A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent NQF-7 qualification (Advanced Diploma or Bachelor of Technology) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Developer, Certified ScrumMaster) are highly desirable. Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in application development, with a focus on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Duties and Responsibilities Duties and Responsibilities: Application Development Design, develop, test, and implement custom solutions within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, including X++ extensions, custom forms, and workflows, as well as complex integrations and new module development. Configure and customise Dynamics 365 F&O (forms, workflows, security roles, and business processes) to meet business requirements, contributing to systems strategy, specifications, coding, and testing. Develop extensions, customisations, and integrations between Dynamics 365 F&O and other systems (e.g. via the Data Management Framework, OData, or Azure Integration Services) to extend platform capability. Agile Practices Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives. Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to refine, prioritise, and manage the product backlog. Support the continuous delivery of high-quality software through iterative development and regular feedback cycles. DevOps Practices Automate deployments and design/maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps for consistent, reliable releases. Monitor and improve application performance and reliability across the development lifecycle. Collaborate with team members to promote DevOps best practices throughout delivery. Technical Leadership Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers, supporting skills growth and knowledge transfer. Conduct routine code reviews to uphold coding standards, best practices, and architectural guidelines. Stay current with emerging technologies and promote consistent development standards and methodologies across the team. Collaboration and Communication Work closely with business analysts, project managers, and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions. Communicate technical concepts and solutions effectively to non-technical stakeholders. Create and maintain documentation of technical designs, configurations, and processes. Problem Solving and Troubleshooting Identify and resolve technical issues and defects in a timely manner, performing root cause analysis to prevent recurrence. Provide responsive support for production systems, ensuring high availability, minimal downtime, and a positive user experience. Implement corrective actions and drive continuous improvement of system reliability. Continuous Improvement Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and processes to improve development efficiency. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge. Contribute to the development and improvement of internal frameworks and standards. System Stability and Maintenance Perform proactive system monitoring, health checks, and preventative maintenance to ensure stability and uptime. Troubleshoot and resolve system issues promptly to minimise downtime. Ensure systems comply with security, governance, and audit requirements, maintaining accurate documentation and change-management processes. Stakeholder & Project Collaboration Liaise and support cross-functional engagement between business units, technical teams, and vendors to ensure alignment across assigned initiatives. Contribute to project planning, timelines, and delivery activities (Agile/Waterfall), ensuring clear communication and shared expectations across stakeholders. Support change management, training, and the adoption of new features, processes, or systems. Training and Support Provide training and knowledge-sharing sessions to the software development and system administration teams. Offer technical support and troubleshooting assistance to the software development and system administration teams. Create and maintain technical and support documentation for the systems. Functional and Behavioural Competencies Technical / Functional Competencies: Strong Proficiency in X++, C#, .NET, and related technologies. Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
