Their technology platform helps medium and large businesses manage logistics operations through a combination of web-based software, mobile applications, fleet management and telematics. We are looking for a Mid-Senior Software Developer (C#) to join their Research & Development team in Observatory, Cape Town. The Role This is a hands-on development role for a developer who enjoys solving complex technical problems, taking ownership of their work and building scalable software solutions. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining software modules and features used within a global technology platform. What you'll be doing Design and develop scalable C#/.NET desktop applications and Windows servicesWrite clean, high-quality and performant codeDevelop and maintain PostgreSQL functions, stored procedures and triggersConsume and develop REST/SOAP Web APIsWork with UX/UI designers to implement user-friendly solutionsTroubleshoot and deep-dive into technical and application performance issuesTake ownership of development modules and features from concept through to completionEvaluate and introduce new technologies where appropriateCollaborate with developers, designers and other stakeholders throughout the development lifecycleWhat we're looking for Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experienceExtensive commercial experience developing with C# / .NET Framework 4+Strong experience with relational databasesStrong SQL knowledgeExperience consuming and/or developing Web APIsStrong understanding of SOLID principles and design patternsExperience with source control technologies such as Git or SVNAbility to work independently and take full ownership of development workEssential Requirements You must have: Strong C#/.NET development experienceStrong SQL / relational database experienceExperience working with Web APIsExperience with JavaScript OR DockerAdvantageous Experience Experience with any of the following would be beneficial: PostgreSQLGoogle Maps, OpenStreetMap or other mapping technologiesAgile development methodologiesPerformance and analytics tools for desktop applications or servicesTeamCity or other continuous integration toolsUnit testing / Test-Driven DevelopmentStatic code analysisWhat we're looking for in you We're looking for someone who is: Curious and passionate about technologyA strong problem solverComfortable working independentlyWilling to take ownership and accountabilityInterested in learning and introducing new technologiesFocused on writing clean, maintainable and performant codeComfortable diving deep into technical problemsWhy join?
