Role Description The Full-Stack Software Developer at NIVA Health will design, develop, and maintain web applications that support clinical workflows, patient engagement, and internal operations. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing front-end user interfaces, building and optimizing back-end services and APIs, integrating with third-party systems, and ensuring data security and reliability across platforms. The developer will collaborate closely with clinical staff and administrative teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions, troubleshoot and resolve application issues, and contribute to continuous improvement of existing systems. This is a full-time, on-site role based in the City of Johannesburg, requiring regular presence at the clinic or office to support cross-functional collaboration and system deployments. Qualifications Strong proficiency in front-end development (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular) and responsive UI implementation. Experience with back-end development (e.g., Node.js, .NET, Java, or Python) and RESTful API design, including database integration (SQL and/or NoSQL). Knowledge of software architecture principles, version control (Git), and CI/CD pipelines for building, testing, and deploying applications. Understanding of security best practices, data privacy, and compliance considerations relevant to healthcare or other regulated industries. Ability to analyze requirements, document technical solutions, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and non-technical stakeholders. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Prior experience in healthcare technology, EMR/EHR systems, or clinical workflow tools is an advantage. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn and adapt to evolving tools and technologies.
